It was during our annual celebration of St Bartholomew’s Feast Day on August 24 that we officially welcomed our new Chaplain to the St Bart’s family.
Archbishop Kay Goldsworthy led a beautiful service for St Bart’s staff, Board members and service consumers at our East Perth site before introducing and commissioning Meliata Thomason.
Meliata joins us after 15 years in Public Safety and another 15 years within the Education Department.
“The Anglican Church has been an integral part of my life,” Meliata said.
“Several years ago both my husband and I felt called to become ordained Anglican priests within the Anglican Church in the Perth Diocese.”
Having watched St Bart’s grow in the space of providing safety and stability for those experiencing homelessness within the community, Meliata says she is grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the St Bart’s team.
Outside of work, Meliata enjoys spending time gardening and listening to music.
