About the role
James Watson Aged Care Centre is a specialised residential aged care service providing nursing care for up to 40 men who are experiencing, or at risk of homelessness.
The Social Support Assistant supports enrichment and promotes wellbeing, participation and functional independence in everyday activities for residents.
Reporting to the Clinical Care Coordinator, the role facilitates appropriate lifestyle activities and programs which are line with the residents care plan and their willingness to participate, using a person-centred approach.
Taking into consideration the qualifications, skills and experience of the successful applicant the base salary offered for this position spans from $57,541 to $62,777 plus superannuation.
We are seeking a problem solver with a qualification in Allied Health Assistance or similar, with relevant experience. Previous experience in Aged Care desirable but not essential.
Ideally, you will have great communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to create rapport and relationships and promote independence and choice with our consumers.

As we work with vulnerable people, the successful candidate will be required to show proof of influenza and COVID-19 vaccinations (unless a medical exemption is provided). The successful candidate must also have or be willing to obtain a current NDIS Worker Screening Check, First Aid Certificate and a current “C” Class Drivers Licence.
