Every day, we see the power of people coming together to create change. Now, we’re on the hunt for a vibrant Volunteer Engagement Specialist/Lead to take charge in building a thriving volunteer community that supports the vital work that we do.

Your magnetic personality makes it second nature in forging strong relationships across all levels, where people naturally gravitate towards you and follow your lead. You know how to create, develop, deliver, and maintain high quality programs that bring our volunteer strategy to life and ‘for purpose’. You thrive when organising people and resources to deliver outcomes, and not afraid of pitching bold ideas or strategies that not only inspire our community volunteers but also our generous corporate partners. You talk the talk, but more importantly, you walk the walk where you roll up your sleeves when you need to get things done and push it over the line.

Whilst experience in volunteer management is awesome (please choose us! if you’re out there!) we are also open to applicants that may not fit the typical mould for this role, but have transferable skills and experience within other sectors of community engagement, communications, marketing, program delivery, executive administration, support work and/or agency-based recruitment.

A day on the job will see you:

• Partner with corporate teams, local businesses, community groups, and our amazing volunteers to bring St Bart’s volunteer strategy to life.
• Work with our Operations teams to design, launch, and deliver innovative volunteer projects that directly support the people in our care.
• Coordinate volunteer events, from planning to execution – ensuring everyone involved feels valued and appreciated.
• Oversee our Christmas appeal to bring festive cheer to the people we support.
• Develop resources and programs that keep our volunteers feeling like the heroes they truly are.
• Develop opportunities and resources with our current and potential corporate partners
• Track, measure, and share the positive impact of our volunteer programs.

Your application will go to the top of our shortlist you have:

• Experience in a similar role leading teams and delivering program initiatives.
• Exceptional confidence and sound communication and interpersonal skills.
• An exceptional ability to connect with people from all walks of life – from community volunteers to corporate leaders and the amazing people in our care.
• A knack for influencing, motivating, and rallying others around a shared vision.
• Bonus points for qualifications in event management, marketing, communications, HR, business, or related areas – but we’re just as interested in your passion, ideas, energy and transferable skills.

What’s in it for you?

• Pay: Competitive salary, plus NFP salary packaging giving you the potential to gain $15,900 in tax benefits
• Leave: 23 days annual leave, that’s 3 days more than the standard 4 weeks
• Perks: Trendy workwear, lots of social activities, expand your experience by joining a consultation committee, interact with the people we exist to support
• Hours: 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday
• Career development: Training, accessible leaders, growth and advancement opportunities
• Culture: Exceptional workplace culture – we work hard and have fun while we do it
