Our incredible volunteers are a crucial part of St Bart’s impact.  As a natural collaborator, creator and motivator, you know how to create, develop, deliver and maintain high quality volunteering programs and strategies to engage members of the community who are keen to help, as well as our generous corporate partners and their teams.  You are a total pro at engaging people at all levels of an organization, right up to CEO, boards and beyond.  Your charismatic personality means that people naturally follow your lead, and your ‘stay calm and carrying on’ attitude means that there is no challenge or spanner in the works, that will distract you from achieving outcomes, leaving our volunteers feeling like total champions.

A day on the job will see you:

  • Foster and build collaborative relationships with corporate partners, businesses, community groups and our volunteer teams in line with St Bart’s Volunteer Strategy and Action Plan.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Management teams to develop, innovate and implement engaging volunteering projects and initiatives.
  • Lead volunteer events, from coordination, to merchandise and to collateral.
  • Coordinate the annual Christmas appeal activities, including distributing donated goodies to our residents in need.
  • Build our volunteer resources, ensuring our volunteers are equipped to make a difference, as well as developing creative ways to show our gratitude for their incredible support
  • Develop, monitor and reporting on your awesome results

Your application will go to the top of our shortlist you have

  • Experience within a similar role, successfully leading a volunteer function.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal style.  You are polished enough to have sway with CEOs and boards, but you are down-to-earth enough to relate to our volunteers and teams.
  • You are not a shrinking violet. You are professional with exceptional influencing skills.
  • While formal quals are not essential, tertiary quals in event management, marketing and comms, HR, business administration, management or commerce will definitely get our attention

About Us

For 60 years, St Bart’s has supported people experiencing homelessness and severe and persistent mental health issues as they rebuild their lives. We started as a small homeless shelter for men and have grown into a progressive and inclusive organisation providing support to hundreds of Western Australian men, women and families across four key service areas. Our goal is to provide safe, supported accommodation and services to people who need it the most, regardless of background, age, gender or ethnicity.
