August 24 marked the Feast of St Bartholomew. Traditionally in England, this day was a harvest feast for shepherds and farmers, celebrating their flocks.
Here at St Bart’s, staff and residents from our various services came together and were joined by Archbishop Kay Goldsworthy, our Board members, Patron Graham Edwards, and volunteer chaplains to enjoy a special service followed by a delicious chicken and salad lunch.
We were also honoured that one of our very own residents, Meghan, gifted us with a spectacular drawing of the Saint himself, which we featured on the cover of our service booklet. Meghan says that drawing has a calming effect on her, and she created this piece over a couple of nights on the coffee table. What a talent!
