While it may have taken a little while to find the right fit, St Bart’s Community Housing tenant Aaron couldn’t be happier with his new job at a bustling cafe.
With the assistance of APM (Australia’s largest provider of Disability Employment Services), Aaron recalls the day he got the good news.
“I went for a trial and they said they were happy with me,” he said. “Then they called me and said the job is mine and I started on the Tuesday.”
Working four days a week from 11am-1pm at Senso Espresso, Aaron keeps busy taking drink and food orders, making toasties, and serving beverages and meals to customers.
“My favourite part of the job is having the opportunity to chat to the customers, making sure they’re happy and alright,” Aaron said.
“The people I work with are also really good and friendly.”
With his newfound income Aaron plans to save up for a holiday, with Japan being of particular interest.
The new job came just as Aaron also started training with his new football club, Swan Districts. Keeping fit, healthy and now busy with his cafe gig, we wish Aaron all the best!
